Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that brought us Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than a century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Some other Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
